House For Sale/Sold

All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another.  ~Anatole France

Nice house and a even nicer family. You all will be missed more then you know.

Truer Words Were Never Spoken

A friend of mine opened his wife’s drawer and picked up a silk paper wrapped package. “this,” he said, “isn’t any ordinary package.” He unwrapped the box and stared at both the silk paper and the box. She got this the first time we went to New York eight or nine years ago. She has never put it on, saving it for a special occasion. Well, I guess this is it……..He got near the bed and placed the gift box next to the other clothing he was taking to the funeral home. His wife had just died. He turned to me and said, ” Never save something for a special occasion. Every day in your life is a special occasion.”………I still think those words changed my life. Now I read more and clean less. I sit on the porch without worrying about anything. I spend more time with my family and less at work. I understand that life should be a source of experiences to be lived up to, not survived through. I no longer keep anything. I use crystal glasses every day. I’ll wear new clothes to go to the supermarket if I feel like it. I don’t save my special perfume for special occasions. I use it whenever I want to…….The words “Someday” and “One Day” are fading away from my dictionary. If it’s worth seeing, listening to or doing, I want to see, listen to or do it now……….I don’t know what my friends wife would have done if she knew she wouldn’t be here the next morning. This, nobody can tell. I think she might have called her relatives and close friends. She might call old friends to make peace over past quarrels. I’d like to think she would go out for Chinese, her favorite food……It is these small things that I would regret not doing if I knew my time had come. Each day, each hour, each minute is special. Live for today for tomorrow is promised to no one…..

Friday Night Fire 3-5-2010

Well it is finally here! The snow is all but melted and we have nothing to do. So after a two week hiatus we are back. Bring your own cart. See you there!

Help needed this coming weekend

We are going to be adding a row of trees and some fencing at the Moore’s house this weekend. We are hoping that all who are capable will come out and lend a hand. Food, pop and beer provided. We should have the stakes for the fence in about mid week and Quality will be delivering the privacy trees on Friday or Saturday morning.  Thanks

Big thanks from Alec

Thank you for all who came to Alec’s 7th birthday party last night! He really enjoyed all the attention and had a great time. Good neighbors and good friends are always welcome in our home!

Cat attack in VVC

As most of you have heard by now we had a Cat attack in the hood yesterday.  After the incident Matt tried catching it but it was just to fast. Now we know how Bob’s sled feels.  Please be on the lookout for a black and white Cat.

VVC Sno Busters

0327_12

This snowy winter has brought together a close nit group of friends called the Sno Busters.  Matt, Mike, Bob, Steven, PJ, Shawn, Scott & Burt all get together in the late evenings ( after the kids are in bed) and fire up the two strokes and blaze some trails and memories.   Enjoy some of the pictures from our trips.

Bankrupt?

The VVC is experiencing the harsh economy first hand these days. The house on the end of the ‘culde’ is being forclosed on. ( Notice the pic below) We are in disbelief that our friend’s and neighbor’s would leave one house to be forclosed on and move into another new home only a few miles away. We can only wish them well and hope that some really cool people who drive slow will move into the house some day in the next ten years. My grandfather always told me to never put to much faith into someones first name. :)
